Peterhead Community Woodland is situated on the outskirts of the town approximately 700m west of the A90 near Lochside Farm. Peterhead Projects Limited (PPL) was granted a 25 year lease on the woodland in Spring 2011. The site which is owned by Score Engineering is around 70 hectares just under half of which is mixture of broadleaf and conifer plantations with some small areas of shrubs.

Following a public consultation PPL are hoping to secure funding to develop a car park and path network which will allow people of all abilities to make use of this community resource. Other plans include planting other areas of woodland, building a pond and planting a wild flower meadow to improve the biodiversity of the site.

The Community Woodland Development Officer is looking to establish a core of volunteers willing to work on the site or supervise youth groups or socially excluded people to develop outdoors skills such as path building and habitat management.
