The visitor information centre, hub and gift shop at 35 Broad Street, Peterhead was opened at the end of 2009. The Shop, Visitor Information and Family History Centre is open Monday to Saturday, from 10 am to 2 pm.

The facility is stocked with leaflets and local information on the area.  Local produce and gifts such as Glendaveny chutney, Macintosh of Glendaveny oils, honey from Fetterangus and Betty Bell's candy are for sale, alongside locally embroidered handtowels, aprons and teatowels and flower arrangements.  Local publications are also available together with a wide variety of books on the Peterhead and Buchan area (including Jimmy Buchan's Trawlermen Book). As well as a few books from Maw Broon including her cookbook!

Through the information centre and gift shop we provide the leisure, tourism and hospitality related businesses in the area an ability to show visitors and locals the potential and attractions on our door step. The long term aim is to find premises which could act as a community hub enabling commercial and community activities to also take place. Whilst we are not tourist related in any way we believe our presence helps.

If you have a business that produces potential gift items we could sell on a commission basis  (sale or return) please call us and we'd be glad to consider your inclusion. Our main criteria are that we will give preference to locally or regionally based businesses providing locally relevant products or produce (although not exclusively). If we are eventually able to provide a large enough inventory we'll consider making these products available for on-line purchase, attracting a wider customer base - possibly on a world wide scale!
