Many families in our local area need some extra support at this time of year.
A unique partnership of agencies who work with families has teamed up with the local social work department, local businesses and organisations to appeal for toys, books, games, toiletries and donations for those in need at Christmas.
Due to the growing demand for help at this time of year we have joined forces with Social Work department to make best use of our resources to meet this need. Agencies include Social Work Department, Working for Families, Peterhead Projects, Bridge CVS, Foyer, Community Wardens, Community Learning and Development, Health Visitors and the Reaching Out Project (Peterhead) and Community Planning Partners. We have also been assisted by Clear Storage, the Happy Plant, Nationwide, Total, Central Buchan Rotary and some of our local churches and community organisations, who have provided support through donating gifts, food and the provision of service such as storage space, delivery van and drivers, volunteers to help wrap gifts.
The presents will be distributed by the partnership with the help of social work department to families, children and young people in our own local area, who would otherwise be facing up to a festive period with very little cheer.
We hope your organization will want to continue to contribute. You can provide support in a number of ways;
1. Host a Gift Tree in your shop or office and invite staff and customers to take a gift tag and make a donation which is age and gender appropriate. (We provide the gift tags)
2. Donate a gift of your choice on behalf of your organisation/project/business.
3. Donate a money donation to the project through Bridge CVS.
4. Donate Non-perishable food items to the Salvation Army.
The last day for donations is Friday 16th December, gifts can be picked up by Peterhead Projects by arrangement please call the 2ReUse Project on Tel: 01779 475008. Donations of money should be made payable to BRIDGE A CHARITY who are handling all financial matters on behalf of the partnership. Please contact me, Liz Scott if you require any further information or to discuss this project further.
